Hey Filmmakers!

I hope you’re all doing well!

First off, apologies for our absence last month—we took a short break to review, restock, and recharge after our big return to the scene following nearly five years away. We’re also working on securing a new venue for future events, but for now, we’ll continue to be next door to BAFTA until further notice.

February Event Recap

We’re thrilled to share that our February event was a huge success! Susanne Farrell was a fantastic guest—she shared valuable insights during our interview and spent extra time networking and answering audience questions (follow her @susefarrell to see what she's up to).

New and old connections were made, bringing together BAFTA full members, junior BAFTA members, and emerging filmmakers.

One of the biggest wins? A paid director role was advertised within our community by @dillon.vanal , and we successfully recruited someone from our network. This is exactly why SIK exists—to support filmmakers and help them advance in their careers! Let's follow Dillon and support him on his journey to see how he and his crew get on with his short film. If they do a crowd funding campaign, can we all chip in or share it. Let's share any socials they post.

THE MARCH EDITION OF #THIRSTY THURSDAYS!

Our next event will feature Scripted Film & TV producer Lincia Daniel, and Derren Lawson (producer and founder) of award winning factual Film and TV production company D.A.R.E Pictures.

We will be giving out tips on how to navigate Cannes.
